Dr Marienne Abimbola Silva, the mother of veteran actress Joke Silva died peacefully yesterday morning at the age of 89.
Dr Silva was the third female doctor in Nigeria but the first Nigerian female to bag a medical degree. She became an OON (Officer of the Order of the Niger) in 1979.
She’s survived by her children and grandchildren. May her soul rest in peace. Amen
