Oguche Basketball Camp ends

The three-day Samuel Oguche Bullet energy drink Basketball camp which began at the Nigeria Institute for Sports Gymnasium, National Stadium, Lagos ends today. The camp which is open to boys and girls of between ages 14 and 16 began Monday.

Initiator of the camp, Sam Oguche told Sports Vanguard that over 170 kids were in attendance and he was encouraged with what he saw.

“The kids have been wonderful and from what the coaches have been able to achieve, we stand to build on that in subsequent editions. With the support of my sponsors, Bullet energy drink, some of the talents discovered here will be awarded scholarships to study and play basketball abroad,” the former Ebun Commets star said.

In his words, “the camp is for free. It’s absolutely free and it is going to be twice a year. The turn out is good but I believe it is going to be better next time.”

Representative of Sunmark Co. UK, Chukwunonso Okekeojide, said his organisation decided to partner with theOguche Basketball camp because of the numerous opportunities it offers for the kids. “Above all, they take Bullet which gives them the energy to play Basketball,” he said.
