Hilarious moments as Tuface, Olamide, others shut down Lekki/Ajah axis for Glo Music show

Lagos was agog with fun and hilarious moments as living music legend, Innocent Ujah Idibia known as Tuface, king of street lingo, Olamide, aka Badoo and other music stars gave the Centre of Excellence a night to remember at the city's first show of the 2017 Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour.
Tuface, whose appearance on  stage elicited a thunderous ovation showed the stuff he is made of with his sonorous rendition of a couple of his evergreen numbers. The profoundly elated crowd stood up, chanting and crooning along with him.
At some point, Nollywood diva, Mercy Johnson who anchored the show with her colleague, Ebube Nwagbo returned on stage to dance with Tuface .
As he held Mercy in a mildly suggestive way, Tuface assured the audience, "Don't worry, I have stopped doing that kind of thing", an apparent reference to his reputation as a ladies' man. The crowd which understood the joke burst into hysterical laughter. Many of them also quickly brought out their android phones to capture the exciting scenarios.
Next to thrill the crowd was Timaya. Spotting a black danshiki (native semi-gown) and a rasta-styled shawl which he swathed around his head when he appeared on stage, Timaya told the story of his very humble background and thereafter burst into a religious mood as he sang "it shall be permanent, what the Lord has done for me, it shall be permanent". He subsequently knelt down, thanking the audience for contributing immensely to the success that he had become. He immersed the crowd in a pool of his hit songs.
Kiss Daniel had earlier energised the audience when during his performance he intermittently threw his fez cap, jacket and a pair of expensive Trainers to the ecstatic crowd who struggled to get hold of the mementoes from their idol. The crowd  thoroughly enjoyed his hit numbers as he rendered them in rapid succession.
As if taking a cue from Kiss Daniel, Igbo ethno-rapper, Phyno  also parted with his cap and jacket which the crowd battled for until security men rescued the dominant holder from his neighbours who were determined to wrestle the jacket from him.
Yemi Alade who came with her full band of back up  singers, percussionists and choreographers put up an energetic performance to the amazement of her fans. Her convivial dance steps and commanding stage presence were a wonder to the crowd who showed her appreciation by responding boisterously to her music and jives.
The night was unveiled by king of dancehall, Runtown who serenaded the audience with hit tunes.
He was followed by a protege of the Marvin Dynasty, Reekado Banks whose hit tunes like 'Katapot', 'Oluwa ni' among others resonated well with the ecstatic crowd.
Master of street lingo, Olamide Badoo was the last act of the night. His fans surged forward to catch a better glimpse of their idol who dished out hits like  Skekelobose and  Shakitibobo with dexterous agility.
Earlier, Globacom's National Sales Coordinator, Lagos and Ogun States, Mr. Akeem Kazeem, had communicated Globacom's appreciation  to the subscribers for their loyalty over the years. He said the shows were the company's way of expressing its immense gratitude to the subscribers.
Reacting to the line up of first-class artistes who performed at the Lagos show, a subscriber, Adeola Badmus, a Systems Engineer, said Globacom had left no one in doubt that it was not only interested in generating revenue, but was committed to giving back to its customers in addition to providing seamless telecommunications solutions to them.
Josephine Alani, a student of the University of Lagos also posited that Globacom had remained a leader in the ICT industry in Nigeria by virtue of its products, services and Corporate Social Responsibility programmes including its flagship shows, which are unequalled in the industry.

Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour will be in Benin City on Saturday, June 4th. The company urged subscribers wishing to attend the show to use up to N2,000 credit within a month and  text ' Music Benin' to a short code, 207.
